Roque de los Muchachos Hike

At the scheduled time we'll collect you from the meeting point as chosen by you. Here, we'll board a bus and begin to make our way along the windy road to the highest point of the island: Roque de los Muchachos.

We'll hop off the minibus and set off on our moderate-level hiking route through the landscapes of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. The trail runs along the edge of the crater and along the way, we'll see the numerous astronomical observatories in this part of the park and, of course, the blanket of clouds that covers the northern part of the island. You'll get some impressive photographs!

During the tour, we'll discover a variety of vegetation such as cedars, laburnum, broom, pansies and tajinastes, whose spring bloom adds an extra level of beauty to the landscape, gracing the highest point of the island with a myriad of colours. The hiking path also crosses a basalt stone wall, Roberto's Wall, which is the subject of a unique legend.

The hiking route, about 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) long, will also take us to Pico de la Cruz, the point closest to the famous Roque de los Muchachos, we'll stop to enjoy the landscapes for one last time and, if the weather allows it, we'll take in the panoramic views of the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and Tenerife.

Finally, at the end of the tour, we'll return to the starting point and say our goodbyes after between 4 and 5 hours together.

If you choose the option without transport, make your way to the meeting point at Pico de la Nieve at 10:15 am.
