Agra is a mesmerizing city in northern India, most famous for being home to the iconic Taj Mahal. Its rich culture, vibrant markets, and impressive UNESCO World Heritage Sites make it a must-see destination for those seeking history, romance, and adventure in equal measure.

A Glimpse into the Past

Originally a small village, Agra rose to prominence during the Mughal Empire. It became a flourishing capital filled with grand architecture and carefully planned gardens. The legacy of the Mughals can be seen everywhere, from intricate marble mausoleums to impressive forts.

Best Time to Go

The ideal period for visiting is from October to March, when the weather is pleasantly cool and perfect for sightseeing. Summers tend to be very hot, while the monsoon season brings heavy rains that might affect your plans.

What should I wear when visiting monuments?

Comfortable, modest clothing is recommended. Visitors should cover their shoulders and knees, especially in religious or historical sites. Don’t forget sunglasses, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes.
